Escaped Llamas dance to the Phish song Llama

Escaped Llamas dance to the Phish song Llama.

Llama (Phish)

Sunrise over the turquoise mountains, messenger birds in sight
They came up through the valley, both sides at a time
Through the cold steady rain Raid! I bend down
Poke a double decker on a llama. Llama, Taboot Taboot
Trigger a blastoplast, ramshackle laker recedes I start to run
It was the loudest thing I'd ever heard And I knew my time had come
To enter the delta
Leave it on press, depress, depress.
Llama, Taboot Taboot

Phish & Neil Young - Down by the River

Definition of Sonic Greatness: Ultimate garage band leader meets Jam band heroes.

Down by the River (Neil Young)

Be on my side,
I'll be on your side,
Baby
There is no reason
For you to hide
It's so hard for me
Staying here all alone
When you could be
Taking me for a ride.

Yeah, she could drag me
Over the rainbow,
Send me away
Down by the river
I shot my baby
Down by the river,
Dead, oh, shot her dead.

You take my hand,
I'll take your hand
Together we may get away
This much madness
Is too much sorrow
It's impossible
To make it today.

Yeah, she could drag me
Over the rainbow,
Send me away
Down by the river
I shot my baby
Down by the river,
Dead, oh, shot her dead.

Be on my side,
I'll be on your side,
Baby
There is no reason
For you to hide
It's so hard for me
Staying here all alone
When you could be
Taking me for a ride.

Yeah, she could drag me
Over the rainbow,
Send me away
Down by the river
I shot my baby
Down by the river,
Dead, oh, shot her dead.

Grateful Dead - The Mighty Quinn

The Dead do Dylan @ Shoreline Amphitheatre, Mountain View, CA
10-3-1987

"The Mighty Quinn (Quinn The Eskimo)"
Bob Dylan

Everybody's building the big ships and boats
Som are building monuments, others jotting down notes
Everybody's in despair, every girl and boy
But when Quinn the Eskimo gets here everybody's gonna jump for joy
Oh come all without, come all within
You'll not see nothing like the mighty Quinn
Come all without, come all within
You'll not see nothing like the mighty Quinn.

Oh you know I like to do just like the rest
You know I like my sugar sweet but guarding fumes and making haste
You know it ain't my cup of meat
Everybody's out the trees, feeding pigeons all under the limb
But when Quinn the Eskimo gets here the pigeons gonna run to him
Oh come all without, come all within
You'll not see nothing like the mighty Quinn
Come all without, come all within
You'll not see nothing like the mighty Quinn.

A cat's meow and a cow's moo to you know I, I could recite them all
Just tell me where it hurts you, honey, and I'll tell you who to call
Nobody can get asleep, there's someone on everybody's toes
When Quinn the Eskimo gets here everybody's gonna want to doze
Oh come all without, come all within
You'll not see nothing like the mighty Quinn
Come all without, come all within
You'll not see nothing like the mighty Quinn.

40 Years ago this weekend, 600,000 people gathered in Watkins Glen, N.Y. to hear The Allman Brothers Band, The Grateful Dead and The Band. It was called Summer Jam.

First there is a mountain, then there is no mountain, then there is...

Grateful Dead - Brokedown Palace

Those melodic, sugary tones that carried Jerry G's signature. Excellent version of a great show closer.

Brokedown Palace (Grateful Dead)

Fare you well, my honey
Fare you well, my only true one
All the birds that were singing
Are flown, except you alone
Gonna leave this brokedown palace
On my hands and my knees, I will roll, roll, roll
Make myself a bed by the waterside
In my time, in my time, I will roll, roll, roll
In a bed, in a bed
By the waterside I will lay my head
Listen to the river sing sweet songs
To rock my soul
River gonna take me, sing me sweet and sleepy
Sing me sweet and sleepy all the way back home
It's a far gone lullaby sung many years ago
Mama, Mama, many worlds I've come since I first left home
Going home, going home
By the waterside I will rest my bones
Listen to the river sing sweet songs
To rock my soul
Going to plant a weeping willow
On the bank's green edge it will grow, grow, grow
Singing a lullaby beside the water
Lovers come and go, the river will roll, roll, roll
Fare you well, fare you well
I love you more than words can tell
Listen to the river sing sweet songs
To rock my soul

U2: Pride in the Name of Love

Song Factoids: The morning after Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated, I remember my mother crying.

Note that lyrics to this classic U2 song say, "Early morning, April 4, Shot rings out..." Actually it was early evening and Bono later realized the error and the band sometimes changes the line to, "Early evening... And Chrissie Hynde sings background vocals. Who knew?

Pride in the Name of Love (U2)

One man come in the name of love
One man come and go.
One man come he to justify
One man to overthrow.

In the name of love
What more in the name of love.
In the name of love
What more in the name of love.

One man caught on a barbed wire fence
One man he resist
One man washed up on an empty beach
One man betrayed with a kiss.

In the name of love
What more in the name of love.
In the name of love
What more in the name of love.

Early morning, April four
Shot rings out in the Memphis sky.
Free at last, they took your life
They could not take your pride.

In the name of love
What more in the name of love.
In the name of love
What more in the name of love.

In the name of love
What more in the name of love.
In the name of love
What more in the name of love.
